Yes as a minimum. Our packing recommendations are based on decades of experience in Antarctic travel and polar weather conditions. You can purchase new kit or bring items you already own.
Read through our Checklist for more information, we recommend bringing some leisurewear for your downtime and you might want to pack more base layers (tops, bottoms, socks) in order to have extra fresh sets after active days of outdoor activities.
No, we do not ship overseas. Your kit will be available for you in Cape Town before your arrival into Antarctica.

If you have a portable powerbank, we recommend bringing it for your electronics as battery life can diminish in the cold temperatures.
These are crampon compatible boots. They have rigid soles and a protruding shelf on the heel of the boot which allows the crampons to attach. These boots will be used for many of your activities while you are in Antarctica. (Class of boots: B2 or B3)
We provide light slippers for use in your bedroom pod. Most guests wear hiking boots or trainers to walk around camp. Some clients like to wear the Baffin boots we loan for the trip, these are a little bulky but incredibly warm.
Should a kit item not fit well, you will be able to try on other sizes at the safety briefing in Cape Town and exchange the item for a different size.
Yes. All guests will be loaned a pair of warm, insulated Baffin boots and a thick down outer jacket. These will be fitted at the safety briefing the day before your departure to Antarctica. For guests on the South Pole itinerary, you will also be loaned a pair of outer down trousers and down mittens.
It is preferable to have a comfortable sized backpack (minimum 38 L) as you will carry this with your extra layers, water, camera etc most days. It will also be used as your overnight pack for the South Pole excursion.
